Year End Review 2018

Every year I decide not to do a ‘best of’/ ‘essential’ list… whatever you like to call it. Sigh… and the every year I get sucked into looking at other people’s lists and start finding nuggets that I’d missed over the course of the last 12 months. So here is my contribution to the end of 2018 celebration of another great year for music.

This is not a ‘best of’ list as such but a reflection on the year gone by from some releases that I thought that you would enjoy, and may have missed. I’ve already featured the Psych Lovers Top 20 for this year, so to avoid duplication (and increase the number of recommended albums) here’s another 30 releases which didn’t feature. These are by no means 25-50 of the other list (and actually my album of the year is in this list below), rather a selection of 2018 LPs which I thought were extremely worthy of your attention, and which are in no particular order.

Dig in and enjoy!

Hey,

Thanks very much for reading my blog, I really appreciate this. I write it as a labour of love to help me enjoy music, and to give something back to the many talented people who put out these incredible sounds.

To make it as enjoyable as possible for others I do pay extra so there are, for instance, no ads on these pages; but it would be great if the blog could pay for itself.

So, if you’ve really enjoyed your visit here and have found some music that you think is amazing, why not buy me a coffee (I write in independent cafés a lot) by clicking the “make a donation” button on the sidebar or footer depending on your device.

Cheers…
